Egyptian Event Europe 2025 – 25–27 July in Pompadour, France
This year’s Egyptian Event Europe was embedded within the ACA France Arabian Horse Festival in Pompadour, a charming small town in France with historic allure.
Pompadour is regarded as the horse town of Corrèze and the Limousin region. As the cradle of the Anglo-Arab breed, Pompadour houses the national stud and a highly prestigious flat- and jump-racing track, where, from March to October, a variety of horse events, national and international, take place against the backdrop of the Château de Pompadour.
The ACA France, the French Arab Horse Association, organised an extraordinary three-day event in these challenging times, with much heart and dedication.
The classes for the Egyptian-bred horses were small but of high quality; the presentation of the horses and the awarding of prizes were spread across all three days, so the Egyptians remained present throughout the event.

Friday opened with the class for yearling fillies, Gold went to Safana Al Hamama, by Hatim Al Waab out of Housnah Al Waab (Sinan Al Rayan), a grey filly bred and owned by Hamama Stud, Qatar.
Silver went to the black filly Naderaah Al Rahil by Hanaya Rahil out of Izzia Al Sihab (Sihab Ibn Shahnan), bred and owned by OZ Arabians, France.
Gold in the two-year-old fillies’ class went unchallenged, with a score of 91, to the grey filly Sukar Al Farida, by Saied Al Farida out of Bekereyya Al Farida, bred and owned by Al Farida Stud, Egypt.
The same held true for the remaining fillies’ classes, in the 4–6 year-old mares’ class Zenobia Al Waab shone, an impressive five-year-old grey mare by Nasser Al Rayyan out of AlFabia LMJ (Sabeh Al Salhia), bred by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalid H A Al Thani, owned by Hamama Stud, Qatar, with 91.4 points.
The class for seven-year-old and older mares was represented by the black mare Imane Bint Shabdis by AR Shabdis out of Sinoan Baheerah Eswad (Sinoan Tamin El Aswad), bred by Frau Evelyne Eschbach and owned by Jeanne Mégret, France. Imane Bint Shabdis charmed with her personably engaging temperament.
The filly class was won by the bay Loudjeme Al Rahil by Hanaya Rahil out of Idjem Al Sihab (Sihab Ibn Shahnan) with Gold. Bred and owned by OZ Arabians, France.
Silver went to the chestnut filly foal Safiyah Al Sihab by Sihab Ibn Shahnan out of Sinoan Safiyah Essuad (Ibn Laila Rej). Also bred and owned by OZ Arabians, France.
For the two-year-old colts, the grey Tarak D’Hateya performed, earning 88.9 points. Tarak D’Hateya is by Messaoud Al Maya out of Alya D’Alka (MAS Bilal) and is bred and owned by Jérome Benoit, Hateya Arabians, France.
The day culminated with the stallions’ classes:
In the 4–6 year-old stallions’ class, the five-year-old chestnut Hanaya Rahil by Al Raheeb AA out of F Jannah (F Sahhar Ibn Schammal), bred by Hanaya Stud, Switzerland, and owned by OZ Arabians, France, took Gold. His progeny had already shown well in the mares’ classes.
Silver went to the four-year-old grey Layyad Ibn Unkas by Unkas out of Saqqarah Bint Shahnan (Meranti Shahnan), breeders Anne and Sébastien Brun, owner Gil Denis.
The dark-bay nine-year-old Sihab Ibn Shahnan by Meranti Shahnan out of EF Tariifa (Ibn Barrada) appeared for the seven-year-old and older stallions’ class and scored 87.8 points. Sihab Ibn Shahnan is owned by OZ Arabians, France.
These three stallions therefore contested Sunday’s Championship, Hanaya Rahil taking Gold.
Sihab Ibn Shahnan was the Silver Champion, and Layyad Ibn Unkas the Bronze Champion.
In the mares’ championship, Zenobia Al Waab won Gold and also received the Special Award ‘Best in Show’.
Imane Bint Shabdis earned Silver.
The awarding of the special prizes took place on Saturday during the evening event, following a spectacular equestrian show.
Naderaah Al Rahil received the award for “Best European Horse Female,”
and the title “Best European Horse Male” went to Hanaya Rahil, both owned by OZ Arabians, France.
The French breeders have organized a very successful event here with much dedication and enthusiasm; it is to be hoped that this will serve as an incentive for European breeders to register and present more European-bred Egyptian Arabians at the next Egyptian Event Europe.
